Fun Art

In addition to my fine art endeavors, I like to explore avenues in fun art. These mixed media sculptures are limited edition pieces made with materials purchased new from industrial metal supply and local hobby stores.

As a SoCal resident, I chose subject matter close to my heart -- the ocean and coastlands. The metal sculptures (pictured below) are 6"-12" in any direction and are perfect for display at home or the office, on a desk, cabinet or bookshelf.

Must They Rust?

I've gone back and forth with the idea of clear coating my metal sculptures to help protect them from rust caused by ocean air and other environmental factors.

Steel Frog Sculpture Patina

All metal will eventually rust if left exposed to humid conditions. Some people prefer their metal sculptures don a rusty patina. Some don't.

Ultimately, I decided it best to offer everyone the option of both and leave the final decision up to them.
